Lyrics

When nights are long and frosts grow strong
The trees so bare, their leaves all gone
The crops all in, the harvest done
A feeble light the fading sun.
Trick or treat when ghosts return
Candles lit on graves and urns
Echoes from a warful past
Empires that did not last.

I wonder why, don’t know how come
November is my favourite month.

Woods and fields a misty sea
Last summer just a memory
Time to think, words that breathe
Time for thanks and time to give.
Geese and turkeys cooked and carved
Served with spuds, with chestnuts stuffed
For those with roofs over their heads
The cold can stay outside their beds.

I wonder why, don’t know how come
November is my favourite month.
